Indian Railways was using Rubber washers in the primary suspension of coaches.

ISSUES

• Rubber over a period of time would buckle under environment due to use of oil.
• Consistency of rubber was a problem because of batch-to-batch variance.
• Life of rubber washers was low leading to a high life cycle cost causing large losses to Indian Railways.

We recommended the washer from a suitable polymer & undertook the challenge to develop High capacity Hytrel upper & lower washers.
